Association for Children with Learning Disabilities founded - The Association for Children with Learning Disabilities was created as a way to educate teachers on ways to better teach those with exceptionalities. The Foundation of the ACLD was important as it paved the way for laws and education in general to be more geared towards disabled persons. The program exists today as the LDA (Learning Disabilities Association), and continues to educate teachers on better ways to teach that ensures disabled students are not learning at a disadvantage.
