WHAT'S eating Johnny Depp? The question should be, what isn't? Not only is the Pirates
of the Caribbean star facing crippling debt, but friends are whispering that the shocking abuse allegations made by his ex-wife Amber Heard could result in him being blacklisted in Hollywood - for good.

Although the actor, 55, can still count on the support of several colleagues in the entertainment industry - like Angelina Jolie, Nicolas Cage, Tim Burton and Kate Moss - it turns out there's a growing list of friends who are leaving him high and dry. Many are taking sides with the Aquaman actress, 32, who's accused Johnny of shoving, hitting and strangling her during their tempestuous two-year marriage.

His latest stunt may not win him any new friends, either. Last month, Johnny bitterly filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber, three months after she penned an op-ed in the Washington Post claiming she was a victim of domestic violence.

"If Johnny were smart, he'd be wise to let this one go," and insider tells Star.

"Amber's got a ton of supporters and well-wishers, especially among the younger Hollywood crowd. You won't find many people, especially women under 40, sticking up for Johnny." And unfortunately for the actor, Amber has a mighty ally in her corner: "Even though they've broken up, her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk is offering her whatever she needs to take Johnny down."

In the meantime, Amber is girding for a fight. "She'll defend herself against his insistence that he never laid a finger on her," the snitch says, "and will stop at nothing to enlist every single person who could bear witness on her behalf."

"Amber knows her words are very powerful," a source tells Star, noting she's "more than OK" with her dirty laundry being aired if it means getting justice.
