The United States entered the war for 2 reasons. The first one is that Germany sank the lusitania that had many Americans on it. It also had supplies that we were sending to Great Britain for the war. The second reason is that Germany wanted Mexico to enter the war they made a paper called Zimmerman note. This note said if you join we well make Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California to join Mexico again. These got America very mad and the general wanted to join the war to stop it. Even though most of America wanted to stay out of it.
