German physicist, philosopher, and experimental psychologist. He is often regarded as the founder of psychophysics, a subfield of psychology that studies the quantitative relationship between physical stimuli and the psychological responses they evoke. His Weber-Fechner law describes the logarithmic relationship between the intensity of a physical stimulus and the perceived intensity of the resulting sensation. His ideas contributed in understanding sensory processing and the limits of human perception. His methods allowed researchers to quantify relationships between physical stimuli and psychological responses in a systematic and controlled manner (Woodward, 2018).
