The September Massacres were a series of violent riots occuring during the first part of September . During this times prisons were raided and over a thousand were murdered. Even many guards and soldiers were killed too. Most of the killing was done by the lower class who suddenly “lost their cool.” France was seen, by those on the outside, and a place of complete anarchy.
