20 Jun 1789 Jahr - Tennis Court Oath
Beschreibung:
Took place at the beginning of the French Revolution by members of the National Assembly (which at this time was made up by people of the Third Estate). On this day, they tried to have a meeting at a Versailles hall and they found themselves locked out of the hall. They thought it was a message from King Louis XVI that they should disband, so they relocated to a nearby indoor tennis court and vowed to never disband until a Constitution was established for France.
