Pancho Villa attacked Columbus, NM on March 9th, 1916. There is no known reason why he chose Columbus specifically but there are theorys. These theories are: He wanted revenge on the U.S after the Agua Prieta incident or he wanted revenge on a specific man in that town. This is also related to the Mexican Revolution because Pancho Villa lead the Mexican soldiers,and convinced them to attack Columbus.
