Charlottesville was lit up by violence as white nationalists and counterprotesters clashed in one of the bloodiest fights to date over the removal of Confederate monuments across the South. This relates to Martin Luther king Jr. Because he was fighting against white supremacy, but I think he would say that the statue should stay because if we forgot about a dark past it would prevent us from learning our past mistakes to make leading a brighter future easier. However I do not think he would stand for how the protest was handled or the people leading them but I do think he would understand the cause instead.
