Over a century since the use of fossil fuels officially ended on Earth, the average global temperature finally stopped rising year upon year in 2162. While the temperature it had come to rest at was STILL far too hot to put an end to the yearly fires droughts and storms, it was the first time the constant rise of the temperature had ceased. It would be many more decades before the temperature would actually start to go down towards pre-industrial levels, but it was a start.

Consistent government efforts of the UNW and subsequent UNE to promote forest regrowth and nature regeneration lead to this development, but that is of little comfort due to the nations that formed them having been responsible for the climate change in the first place.
