1 Mai 2054 Jahr - Ares I Departs Earth

Beschreibung:

After the completion of the long and delicate process of shipping all the required food, water, tools and materials to the surface of Mars, the manned Ares mission departed earth bound for mars on the first of May, 2049.

After a Rendezvous with the Lunar Gateway station used by the three Luna missions, the I.S.A. Ares I took slightly over eight months to reach Mars. Once in a stable orbit around the red planet, the 6 intrepid colonists climbed into the landing module for descent while the main body of the craft would remain in orbit manned by a further two crew members as a satellite reminiscent of the now destroyed International Space Station. The landing module would carry forward the name I.S.A. Ares while the main body of the craft remaining in orbit would take on the name of the Ares Martian Gateway.
