After three decades of dedicated service, and a tumultuous final few years, the International Space Station was finally decommissioned in 2031. It was destroyed by burning up in Earth's atmosphere when it was de-orbited over Point Nemo.

In its place would come many larger and more numerous space stations from various individual space stations over the following decades, all of which would one day fall under the jurisdiction of the International Space Administration.
