This is one of the multiple schools Parlier named after Latino activists. Ben Benavidez was one of Cesar Chavez’s right-hand men and a participant in the UFW movement. During my time at this school, he would come in annually to give us speeches about his involvement with Chavez before passing away in 2016. (RAR)
