Beschreibung:

Parliament amended section 68 of the Public Health Act 1908 to empower the Governor-General to create special districts overseen by existing Māori Councils. The 1919 amendment empowered Māori Councils to appoint Health Committees to carry out sanitary works subsidised by government.
