Beschreibung:

Issued by President Abraham Lincoln this made slavery illegal during the Civil War. The wording of the proclamation made it so that slaves were only illegal in states that were in the Confederacy. This proclamation while flawed, still was able to ignite hope within the enslaved people of the south.
