Revolution that happened in current Uruguay (at that time part of the United Provinces), against the spanish rule in Montevideo. Is considered the first action that marked the beginning of the independence revolution in Uruguay. The not recognized Viceroy of the Río de la Plata, Francisco Javier de Elío, threatened the people of Uruguay with a Portuguese intervention if the insurrection continued.
