10 Jan 1776 Jahr - Thomas Paine write Common Sense
Beschreibung:
Thomas Paine’s Common Sense pamphlet is what convinced the colonists to unite and rebel against the tyrannical rule of Britain and King George III. Common Sense promoted the advantages of creating a new government in America and pushed government leaders to declare independence. This infamous pamphlet had many powerful and compelling points inside of it. Some of the more famous of these is the statement that the government exists to serve the people of their country. In this section, Paine talked about the government being a “necessary evil” so that they could solve problems and prosper. He also said that having a king was a bad idea. Investing so much power in one person is never a good idea, even if they have the best intentions. He also pointed out that America had the opportunity to create a new nation based on self-rule. Thomas Paine was the person who united the colonists and paved the way for a great nation to be born.
