Closed for 1st time on 1 Nov 1924. Opened again 9 May - 31 Oct 1925. Received over 27m visitors. Original Wembley Stadium purpose-built for this in 1923, hosting its 1st match the famous 'White Horse' FA Cup FInal on 28 Apr 1923.

Held to strengthen ties and encourage trade within the empire, and increase public interest in the empire.
