Plessy vs Ferguson was an important U.S Supreme Court case, regarding to whether the racial segregation laws were constitutional. These laws required African Americans and whites to use different public facilities such as, toilets and drinking fountains. The court’s decision in the case established the controversial doctrine of “separate but equal.” This affects the human rights towards African Americans because it is limiting them to have the right to use public utilities and taking away that freedom. It made them feel unequal and separated from society.
