Description: The Magna Carta was a charter that was drawn by the French Barons and Nobles that had taken over England. This set laws so the tyrant, King John, could not cross the line anymore in his rulings.
Reasons it mattered:
1. It stopped tyranny in England
2. It set an example and was used in the writing of Declaration of Independence and many others constitutions around the world
3. It showed that the people could and should stop any tyranny in their land(s) and stand up against their ruler if they are abusing their power.
