Beschreibung:

After the death of President Zachary Taylor, who disagreed with slavery in the Southwest, the Compromise of 1850 became attainable. The compromise consisted of five bills which would later infuriate many.

Cause: States want to enter the Union.

Effect: Slave trade ends in D.C, stricter fugitive slave laws, California admitted as free states, New Mexico and Utah can ban or allow slavery.
