And Starts WWII In Europe
Beschreibung:
On September 1, 1939, Hitler ordered 2,000 tanks, 400 fighter planes, 900 bombers, and 1.5 million men to invade Poland. Almost instantly German troops were able to break through Poland's defense and start to advance on Warsaw (their capital city). Very soon after Jews started to flee Poland. After a large bombing battle Poland couldn’t resist German forces and Warsaw surrendered to German troops. After the German advance Soviet troops were quick in advance and occupied most of East Poland. In this battle 14,000 German spiders were found dead and another 30,000 were wounded. On the Polish side 66,000 were found dead and over 130,000 were wounded. After Germany showed the power of their forces being able to take Poland in only 26 days, France and Britain felt threatened and prepared for the worst. This battle marked the start of the biggest war our world had ever seen.
