John Tillotson, an English theologian, and bishop was a prominent opponent of millenarianism. He was a leading figure in the Church of England and served as Archbishop of Canterbury from 1691 until his death. He argued for a more rational and practical form of Christianity, emphasizing the importance of good works and moral conduct.
