The Siege of Orléans and the subsequent arrival of Joan of Arc marked the beginning of the end of the Hundred Years' War. With the defeat of the besieging English army at the city of Orléans, and the vital emergence of Joan of Arc, the tide began to turn for the English as the spirit of French rose and the English were gradually pushed out of France.
