29 Aug 1970 Jahr - Chicano Moratorium
Beschreibung:
Chicano Moratorium gained momentum on August 29, 1970, when the Chicano community demonstrators marched through East Los Angeles in protest against the Vietnam War. Thousands of individuals lament the disproportionate number of Mexican American troops drafted. As a result, Mexican Americans died at twice the rate of any other group in Vietnam. Disparities in public education, systematic exclusion from higher education, and high unemployment rates among Mexican Americans also fueled the demonstration.
