In the Fall of 2020, I started my higher education at UC Berkeley as a first-generation student. My parent's education included part of high school in Mexico. I am fortunate to attend university and reflect on my parents not having the same opportunities to develop skills focused on their interests. I attended a predominantly Latinx high school in Salinas with a lack of resources and accessibility to AP courses, which if improved can benefit Latinx students to continue in higher education.
