Beschreibung:

In the night of 23-24 August 1939, Germany and the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact., known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The nations split the  countries that were between them in secret and came to an agreement not to attack one another.
West Poland and a portion of Lithuania were claimed by Germany. The cause of having the German- Soviet Non-Aggression Pact was for the convenience of between the two bitter ideological enemies. The pact allowed Germany to fight the intermediate wars without facing the fear of a Soviet attack, thereby avoiding a two front war. In 1940, one month after Germany defeated France, Hitler ordered preperations for war against the Soviet Union. The German and Soviet Union signed a 10 year nonagression pact where each signatory swore not to attack one another. This bound Hitler and Stalin to peaceful relations.
