What messages did you hear/learn about being religious?
At this time, my sisters would attend the church down the road from our family house with a friends mother and her daughters. Through this church, they both got baptized, and I learned that baptizing was a way of committing to said religion, which was Christianity. This allowed me to take part in events that the church was hosting, but to be honest, I never learned much from this place - all I truly remember is winning a costume contest against a baby and the scientific experiments that a woman would show us children whenever the adults were off doing something else (i.e. shrinking a chip bag in a microwave). This was a very cool thing to witness, however, and one of my siblings got to keep the bag, too.

Where did the messages come from? (i.e. Parents, other family members, religious organizations, schools, teachers, media, other institutions, peers, etc.)
These messages came from religious organizations, family members, and peers. As I said, my sisters friends mother always allowed us to go down to the church because she was very tight-knit within the community.

What behaviors were encouraged, rewarded, and supported? How?
Behaviors that were supported, again, were just being a good person and really just putting your faith in god.

What behaviors were discouraged, unsupported, and punished? How?
As I said before, behaviors that were discouraged were things such as doubting your true belief in your religion and being anything but a good kid through bad actions (i.e. cursing, being ill-willed).
