FROM THE DAILY MAIL:
Johnny doesn't seem to be having much luck in Australia.

After reportedly spending $320,000 to have his wife Amber Heard's beloved pet pooches, Boo and Pistol, flown home on a private jet to avoid them being put-down by the Australian authorities, it has now been revealed that his new flick is reportedly around $70 million over-budget.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has racked up a $320 million bill, well over its initial budget of $250 million, after production had to drop anchor when Johnny accidentally injured his hand on set in Queensland's the Gold Coast in March.

There's still another 14 weeks of shooting left for the Captain Jack Sparrow star despite the budget already overblown on the latest installment of the Disney blockbuster.

It's not good news for the Hollywood A-lister who is in hot water with the Australian authorities for sneaking his pet pooches into the country last month on a private jet without declaring them.

The pair have been at the centre of an international quarantine row after it was revealed Pistol and Boo have been staying at the couple's rented home in the Gold Coast, despite them not having been declared disease-free.

Johnny Depp, 51, and his much younger model wife, 29, bid an emotional farewell to their furry babies on Friday, sending them back to the US from Australia via a private jet after a government minister threatened to put down the terriers.

On Friday afternoon Depp and Heard had reportedly notified the government that they would leave the Gold Coast in Queensland after being given 50 hours notice to take their pets back to the US.

However, the actor has decided to remain Down Under to meet filming commitments for the latest Pirates Of The Caribbean film, according to reports.

The ordeal comes after Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said it was time the dogs 'buggered off back to the US'.
Mr Joyce indicated that Depp had intentionally ignored Australian laws, which require animals being brought into the country to be declared.

He said: 'When these corporate jets come in they are supposed to sign a manifest of what is on the plane, what people are on the plane and certainly if they're carrying any dogs.

'I don't know where he had them - in the Louis Vuitton bag,' he jested, adding 'but anyway they've wondered through with them and they probably think that it's fair enough and that they're above the law, but they're not.'

Mr Joyce also revealed on The Project the Australian government 'bent over backwards' to get monkeys through biosecurity checks for the set of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Depp and Heard - who were staying at a rented home in the Gold Coast - were issued a strict warning by the Department of Agriculture on Tuesday, demanding they remove their two terriers from the country within 50 hours or risk having them put down.

'We bent over backwards to get their monkeys in – it was only just recently they had to get monkeys in [for their set] and we had to try and do everything in our power [to get them in],' Mr Joyce told Channel 10.

'So they know what the deal is, and that's why we're a bit miffed by them.

'They know our laws, abide by them.'
