Also known as the ten hours act, this act limits the hours women and young children could work to 10 hours a day. There have been multiple "Factory Acts" but this one stands out as a definitive step in better working conditions for children. This total limits women and children workers to 58 hours of work a week. This act was supposed to also limit the work hours of adult men, but the focus was placed on women and children
