Puritans were still being persecuted by Catholics and didn't want to tolerate it anymore. A group of Puritans began a new colony in the New World called "Massachusetts Bay Company." To Puritans wanted to start this new colony because it could be a place for the to practice their religion without being persecuted. This was significant because it was the start of a new colony and inspired other branches of Christianity to form.
