9/11 happend because Osama bin Laden, the leader of the militant Islamic organization al-Qaeda, held naive beliefs about the United States in the run-up to the attacks. The two planes destroyed the twin towers of The World Trade Center, badly damaged the Pentagon and left some 3,000 Americans dead.
