19 Sept 1796 Jahr - Washington's Farewell address
Beschreibung:
Helped by Alexander Hamilton, Washington wrote a farewell address in which he advised Americans:
Not to get involved in European affairs
Not to make “permanent alliances” in foreign affairs
Not to form political parties
Not to fall into sectionalism
The significance of these was that future americans ignored these warnings and even at the time, America was already developing political parties and Washington's decision to only have two terms as president set the precedent for future presidents to run for only two terms
Pictured above is George Washington's farewell address
