The March on Washington occurred on this day and took place in front of Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. Around 250,000 people gathered during this massive protest which purpose was to advocate for civil rights for African Americans. This march also is known for Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech.
