Meanwhile, US air and long-range artillery has been devastating Russian defensive positions across the Belarusian border in anticipation of an assault across the border. Russia, which has far more artillery than the US, responds with overwhelming volleys of fire. However, the US is better at counter battery fire, and artillery duels tend to end in US victory.
