9 Sept 1917 Jahr - Russian general Kornilov attempts to take control of the government and establish a military dictatorship. The affair is very short lived but results in the complete erasure of any credibility the provisional government once had. Kerensky himself is implicated. 14 September: Russia is declared a republic.
