James arrived in Ohio and picked up the engine from Jack Middleton's shop, gave Jack $10k cash of his own money (Eye Witness, James's mother Katherine Nicks) witnessed the transfer of funds, also took a photo of the engine being loaded into James's truck . James asked Jack Middleton for receipt his reply was that he did not want to pay state sales tax on the full sales price of $16k for the engine and he only provided a yellow receipt for the $10k cash paid with no reference to the shop or the motor
