1 Jan 1943 Jahr - Maslow's Theory of Humam Needs

Beschreibung:

Maslow defined the term “need” as a physiological or psychological deficiency a person seeks to satisfy. These needs influence a person’s work attitude, performance, and behaviours. This approach sees a hierarchy of a person’s needs. In an order from lowest to highest, they are: physiological; safety; social; esteem; and self actualization needs.
The latter theory is built upon two main principles: the deficit principle and the progression principle.
The deficit principle states that a satisfied need is not a motivator. An unsatisfied need, however, is a motivator of behavior - hence a satisfaction deficit.
The progression deficit states that Maslow’s theory is a hierarchy. This means that in order for a need at any level to arise, the ones before it must be satisfied.
Once a need is satisfied, one’s behaviour seeks to accomplish the next level. Whoever satisfied the self-actualization level is excluded from the deficit and progression principles.
