This would be Lincolns first great speech. One in which he is famous for saying he would not aim to end slavery. This would be the implementation of the 16th president of the United States, and would mark the beginning of the Era of Lincoln. This speech had to be delivered strongly and firm for the nation was in crisis. The south was disbanding and he had an enormous amount of pressure. He would go on to give it and show his calm firm position and composure.
