Col McGirth, Loyalist, move 370 men across the Savannah River possibily at Stone's Ferry. Capt Vince and seventeen members of his militia ambushed the loyalist crossing from the Georgia side ot the river to raid in South Carolina. Vinc's seventeen militiamen put up such a ferocious fight McGrith's men fled back into Georgia with several who panicked and drown.
