After a deadly winter more than 260 Dakota men convicted the previous fall are brought to a compound in Iowa they spent three years before being exiled the Dakota from fort snelling gone on a steam boat on the mississippi to reservations including crow creek that was such a bad place the government basically said let's give them the most terrible pieces of land it was so bad they were sent their basicly to die because they could not farm due to the conditions of the land it as so dry.
