- The earliest record of the use of forensic science was back in the third century in China. A woman claimed her husband died when he was unable to escape a fire. A suspicious coroner performed an experiment in which he burned a pig that was alive and a dead pig. He noticed the pig that was burned alive had ashes in his mouth while the other didn't. He checked the deceased man's mouth to be free of ashes. He questioned the widow to which she confessed to murdering her husband and burning his body to try and destroy the evidence.
