Internally named the 147 series, the 8.9L MD9 is a step bigger than the 118 series, which is now named the MD7. In it's place is the new 8.0L MD8 (internally 133 series). Larger series such as the 198 and 245 series have also been updated and upgraded, now named SD12 and SD15
