Parent/Teacher conference. Will’s form tutor – insert name here – tells Janet that Will is an incredibly smart young man and that he would do better at a top school. Suggests Hillside Academy. Janet goes home and does some research. Will isn’t keen on going away to boarding school but doesn’t know how to voice what he wants.

Set on making sure Will gets the best education possible, Janet encourages Will to sit the entrance exam for Hillside Academy. She’s been in touch with the scholarship charity, Free Minds – a charity which specialises in funding scholarships for children who come from broken homes; criminal parents, no blood guardian, drug abuse, sexual and physical abuse etc.
