This night, Ashley comes home with another girl – Hannah Necker – and proceeds to try to rape her. This time, Will doesn’t call the police; he fights his father in such a brutal attack the girl calls the police. When they arrive, she and Will tell them everything.

Ashley is arrested for sexual assault, plus the years of abuse and neglect of Will.

Will’s taken to the hospital where his wounds and injuries are photographed and documented. He is interviewed by the police with a social worker, Melissa Bedford. He gives a full statement detailing everything that happened from the night his mother left until then.
He’s taken to a youth home in Wigan.
