Freedom Riders group of African American and white civil rights activists. Participated in rides through the American South with the purpose to protest segregated bus terminals. Also known for using “white only”restrooms, lunch tables and buses. This group has some acts of violence, arresting policies, confronting white protestors and more. Moving forward to the actual act, a group of 13 freedom riders left on May 4, 1961 from Washington D.C planning to go to Louisiana on the 17 to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision of “segregation of the nation’s public.
