The Bombing of Pearl Harbor was a Japanese air force attack on a U.S. navy base at Pearl Harbour in Honolulu.

After the attack, Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his "Day of Infamy" speech, publicly requesting war against Imperial Japan, announcing "I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire."
