29 Dez 1964 Jahr - March from Selma to Montgomery

Beschreibung:

The march from Selma to Montgomery in the state of Alabama was a trek not only literally for the people that walked it, but figuratively in how it changed the lives of so many people. The march was done to bring attention to black American's not being able to vote and the need for national voting rights.. The route was a treacherous 54-mile hike from Selma to the capital of Alabama, Montgomery during the hot month of march. They were confronted with deadly violence and many were killed by white vigilante groups such as the KKK. Under the protection of the federalized national guard troop, they finally finished their goal in just under 3 days.
