Johnny Depp admitted during a “Today” show interview Friday that when acting, the last thing he wants is to look like himself. The same might apply for interviews, because, while promoting his new flick, “Black Mass,” the Kentucky native sounded like he had a variety of different accents while chatting with Natalie Morales.

Picking up a bit of Boston brogue after portraying gangster Whitey Bulger in the film, Depp, 52, shifts in and out of accents — including an Australian twang — as he drones through the three-minute interview in a daze.

Depp’s behavior, let alone appearance, has raised more than a few eyebrows of late. Not only did the Oscar nominee drab up the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this week, but his bloated appearance during the Venice Film Festival overshadowed the press for his buzzworthy new feature.
