The People's Mujahedin of Iran, a group of leftist Iranian exiles also known as the M.E.K., obtain and share documents revealing a clandestine nuclear program. The United States accuses Tehran of an "across-the-board pursuit of weapons of mass destruction" and suggests that Russia helped build the facilities. Iran also signs an accord with Russia to speed up completion of the nuclear power plant at Bushehr.
