Big Sid Catlett performed in Chicago through the late 20's and late 30's. Big Sid played with some well known people including Benny Carter, McKinneys Cotton Pickers, Fletcher Henderson, and Don Redman. He was one of the very few drummers that successfully transitioned into the Be-Bop era of jazz.
